This past weekend, SoNo Marketplace was proud to sponsor Barks & Beer, a benefit to help dogs in need. Partnering with Bully Breed Rescue, this non-profit organization gives Bully Breeds in Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and New England a second chance at the wonderful life they deserve by placing them in forever homes. At SoNo Marketplace’s new outdoor Farm Terrace Beer Garden, patrons who made a $5 donation received a ticket redeemable for any draft craft beer. They were also invited to take part in a silent auction for a framed sketch of their pet by Annalisa of Art by Annalisa.
Rocksis, Winston, Louie (top photo) and Mama (above) are American Staffordshire Terriers in need of new homes.
Saturday's benefit enabled visitors to get up close and personal with four adorable and adoptable pooches. Gentle and loving, this breed is often mistreated, neglected and maligned in the media. Bully Breed Rescue works to increase public awareness through education programs that focus on the frequency of violent crimes against animals and on the correlation between animal abuse and violent behavior towards people, as well as how this violence affects communities.
SoNo Marketplace owner Joe Grasso spoke with Priscilla Lombardi of It's Revelvant.com about the event. View the video HERE.
Barks & Beer was a success! Dog-loving folks made friends and mingled with the pups, enjoyed a delicious craft beer, and generously donated to Bully Breed Rescue which will provide the dogs with medical evaluations, vaccinations, spay/neutering, food, leashes, collars, bedding, and doggie treats. Plus, 100% of the $100 winning silent auction bid will go to Bully Breed Rescue. (Thank you, Tami!)
